Smile (2022)

The psychological horror film follows Dr. Rose Cotter, a therapist who becomes ensnared in a terrifying supernatural curse after witnessing the gruesome death of a patient. This curse transfers through witnesses of traumatic suicides, leaving each victim haunted by a malevolent entity that manifests as people they know, always wearing an unsettling smile. Overwhelmed by hallucinations and relentless torment, Rose seeks to uncover the origins of the curse to save herself. However, her journey forces her to confront her deeply buried childhood trauma, particularly surrounding her mother’s death. Ultimately, her efforts fail as the entity overtakes her, perpetuating the curse by passing it to another witness, her ex-boyfriend Joel​.
